Haiti - FLASH : A list of buyers seized from the arms trafficker Larco

Monday, following the arrest at Puits Blain 9, a neighborhood of Pétion-ville, on December 24 of Arby Frantz Larco a major arms trafficker https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-29607-haiti-flash-dismantling-of-a-large-network-of-weapons-and-ammunition.html , this one was presented to the media by the National Police of Haiti (PNH).

Commissioner Michel-Ange Louis Jeune, Spokesperson for the National Police of Haiti (PNH) revealed that Larco was a gunsmith who had in the past had contracts with public bodies, but that his gunsmith's license had ended in 2012.

Michel-Ange Louis Jeune summarized the seizure report from the Central Direction of the Judicial Police (DCPJ) of weapons and ammunition found at the residence of Larco among others : 27 assault rifles, 9 pistols, 3 revolvers, 324 magazines, 43,000 cartridges of different calibers, 2 bulletproof vests, 6 tear gas grenades, 23 stocks, 6 gun barrels and 5,000 US dollars adding that the DCPJ investigators continue to analyze the weapons and ammunition seized in order to continue their investigations.

In addition, Jean Rebel Dorcénat, Spokesperson for the National Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Commission (CNDDR), present at this presentation affirmed that in the documents obtained during the searches of Larco's home, there was a list of several citizens, including entrepreneurs, who bought illegal automatic weapons from Larco, refusing to specify the number of weapons and buyers affected by this list.

He said that buyers of the list would be given reasonable time to voluntarily hand over the illegal weapons to the Commission, ensuring that they were not reported to the police. The number +509 37 79 5020 is available to people who have these illegal weapons.

However, he warns the owners of these weapons that if they ignore the Commission's appeals and refuse to surrender them voluntarily, the justice system and the police will undertake to take all necessary measures to recover them.
