The President Martelly assured that the choice of Prime Minister will be officially known at the beginning of this weekend. Although the choice of President for the businessman Daniel-Gérard Rouzier has not yet been endorsed by both Presidents of the chambers (Deputies and Senators), it seems that the choice of the President is unofficially made. Only the name of Daniel Rouzier was mentioned so far, during the meetings between the Head of State and Presidents of both chambers, Jean Rodolphe Joazile and Saurel Jacinthe.

Since the beginning of the week, many negotiations [based on bargaining] would have taken place, between Daniel Rouzier, unofficially designated and some parliamentary groups. The Senator Joseph Lambert, said waiting for clarification of the Head of State on the sharing of responsibilities within the next Government.

Little reliable information circulating on the choice of Ministers. However, among the most persistent rumors, it seems that the names of Michel Oriol and Daniel Supplice would be confirmed, respectively, for the Ministry of Interior and Foreign Affairs.

In parallel with these negotiations, a few dozen people protested yesterday Thursday in Port-au-Prince against the possible nomination of Daniel Rouzier as Prime Minister, which they describe as opportunistic and descendant of Louis Borno [former president accused to have engaged a racist policy in public administration].

Other protesters have suggested, in place of Daniel Rouzier, to appoint Me Gervais Charles "someone who during the electoral campaign, defended Michel Martelly when the latter was qualified as immoral by his detractors". Reacting to those comments relayed in the local press, the lawyer Gervais Charles in a short statement has declared "This is not an elective position, I'm not campaigning, and I did ask anyone to campaign for me".
