PNH Nippes : a thief killed

Thursday, a repeat robber Davidson Otaris (29), well known to the justice system and the police, was killed around 5 a.m. in Calbassier (Dept. of Nippes) during an exchange of fire with Miragoane police officers, after having robbed several vehicles.

During the month of January 2020, according to the emergency statistics of the National Ambulance Center, the Center took care of 253 cases of road accidents, 44 cases of gunshot wounds, 55 cases of other injuries and fractures, 494 cases obstetric emergencies, 308 cases of diarrhea, vomiting and pain and 193 cases of chronic diseases.

New elected Bâtonnier

Thursday, February 6, at the Court of Cassation, following the elections of the Bar Association of Port-au-Prince, Me Monferrier Dorval was elected new president of the bar with 228 votes far ahead of his competitors. Me Stanley Gaston (146 votes) and Me Jacquenet Oxilus (150 votes). Me Monferrier Dorval replaces Me Stanley Gaston, who ran for two terms as head of the Bar.

Taiwan : Partnership agreement with the Court of Cassation

Thursday February 6, Bang-Zyh Liu, Ambassador of. Taiwan (Republic of China) and Me René Sylvestre, President of the Court of Cassation, signed a Partnership Agreement relating to support for the logistical functioning of the Court.
