Newborn kidnapped found

The 2-day-old infant kidnapped on March 21 at the Maternity Hospital of the Justinien University Hospital in Cap-Haitien was found, Wednesday afternoon, during an operation carried out by the police and judicial authorities in the 3rd section Haut-du-Cap. The infant was with Micheline Dona, 40, who was arrested. Her daughter Woodjina Augustin, the kidnapper, fled.

Delivery of soap and disinfectants to children's homes

The Institute of Social Welfare and Research (IBESR) delivered soaps and disinfectants to the 754 listed children's homes in Haiti. "Let's wash our hands and only go out when necessary. The Covid19 affects everyone, children and adults. Let’s not stigmatize the sick, but let’s help them," UNICEF counsel.

Lack of artificial respirator

PNH : opening of a claims office

Commissioner Michel Ange Louis Jeune, Spokesperson for the Police of the Haitian National Police (PNH), has announced the creation within the police institution of an office dedicated to handling the social demands of the police offciers. This new PNH Welfare Service is headed by a divisional inspector under the supervision of the PNH administration.

CAN training

In response to the Covid-19 epidemic, under the leadership of the Ministry of Public Health, the Training Section of the National Ambulance Center (CAN) has held 11 training sessions on the Covid-19 since the beginning of March. These training courses enabled 171 employees of the CAN central office to acquire the necessary knowledge on the wearing of personal protective equipment, infection prevention and control, ambulance decontamination and standard precautions for health personnel. These training sessions continue throughout the rest of March, extending to staff from the departmental ambulance networks.
