Haiti - Politic : Electoral advisers before the Senate Committee of Inquiry

Yesterday Friday, the Senate Committee of Inquiry on the corruption and fraud recorded within the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP), in the recent parliamentary elections heard separately the advisers Laurette Croyance and Ribel Pierre.

Upon leaving the hearing, Laurette Croyance declared to know nothing "I've never been involved and knows nothing of all this [fraud and corruption]... if there was something I do not know..." adding "...I know what was discussed within the Council, which has been discussed outside I do not know."

Mrs. Croyance explained that her meeting with the commission aimed to answer questions, stating that she had responded to all the questions, but that she could not reveal them to the press.

Responding to a question about maneuvering and fraud, the advisor answered "I know nothing about shenanigans because they were conducted at the level of polling stations ... I'm not going to polling stations."

Finally Mrs. Croyance expressed great satisfaction with the meeting.

Remember that this commission is presided by Senator Youri Latortue, and according to a statement dated May 18, the work of this latter "will continue for two to three weeks, the time to receive all information and make recommendations...""
