Nice catch in Les Cayes

On Saturday April 18, the Haitian National Police (PNH) arrested 6 members of an operating gang operating in the locality of "Nan reno", a sensitive zone of the City of Les Cayes. Among them, an individual identified as Robinson Morpeau accused of kidnapping a Natcom employee at Carrefour Boyer last year.

Also earlier this week also in Les Cayes, PNH agents arrested Lony Marcelin (24), one of the active members of the gang called "5 segond" who had taken refuge in the South to receive care following a gunshot wound.

Towards a deficit of 30 to 40 billion Gourdes

Friday, Fritz A. Jean, the former governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) declared on a radio of the capital that the financing of the budget deficit by the Central Bank of the Government which was already at 21.1 billion gourdes at the end of February 2020, could reach between 30 and 40 billion at the end of the 2019-2020 financial year.

A criminal arrested

A young woman by the name of Lovely Chéry, aka "Ti landeng" under arrest warrant of Les Cayes for attempted murder, was arrested in Port-au-Prince.

An ASEC adviser shot dead

Councilor Panefils Nestor, member of Administration of Communal Sections of the first section of Blacktote (Municipality of Tiburon, South Department) was shot dead in what appears to be a family conflict according to Justice of the Peace François Desjardins.

Cap-Haitien : Intensive street cleaning program

Friday, April 17, the Town Hall of Cap-Haitien, with the support of the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA) of the Regroupement des Organizations des Femmes du Nord (REOFEN), of Senator Ralph Féthière, of the Vice-delegation of the district of Cap-Haitien and other partners, launched an intensive program to clean the streets of the city. The Municipal Council thanks the Capoise population for its frank collaboration as well as the judicial and police authorities, the National Police of Haiti and the Ministry of Public Works North for their support, their collaboration and their implication in the fight against the Coronavirus Covid-19 .
