Petit-Goâve : Death of Deputy Mayor Raymonde Mainvie

On Saturday April 25, Raymonde Mainvie (50), Deputy Mayor of Petit-Goâve, died of a courageously endured illness. Jude Édouard Pierre, President of the National Federation of Mayors of Haiti, (FENAMH) jointly with Limongy Jean Samson the Mayor of Petit-Goâve announces in agreement with the family of the deceased that the funeral will be celebrated on Saturday May 9, 2020 in compliance with the instructions of the health authorities.

No masks for children under 2 years old

On Monday during his intervention at the Permanent Information Center on the Coronavirus, Dr. Rodin Fernand, urged parents not to let children under the age of 2 wear a mask as this could cause suffocation.

Visit to the juvenile prison

At the initiative of Mag Ikenson Edumé President of the national network of Haitian magistrates and of the Secretary of State for youth in sports Charlot Jaclin Jr. took place last week an evaluation visit within the framework of Covid-19at the Center of Reintegration of Minors in Conflict with the Law (CERMICOL) in Delmas 33. During this visit, Charlot Jacquelin Jr, took the opportunity to distribute a batch of sanitary materials to the prison official, on behalf of minors (hygienic kits and masks).

FAO alongside the Ministry of Agriculture

Monday, José Fernández, the Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Haiti, met with the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Patrix Sévère on how to support the Government in order to limit the impact of the food crisis and Covid-19 on rural agricultural households.
