Haiti - Reconstruction : Gingerbread Project for Neighbourhood Renewal

Within the framework of the Renovation Project of "Gingerbread neighborhood" of Port-au-Prince, the architects and planners Nicolas Frapolli and Mati Paryski, from the association "Neighbourhoods for Haiti", will present this Monday, June 6 at 2:00 pm in the room FOKAL-UNESCO, few urban tools, Belgian and French, for the regeneration of neighborhoods, that they are of great historical value or not.

To better educate the public in general and the professionals working in the field of urban planning in particular, the two architects - planners, just perform a preliminary study for the realization of a pattern of urban development of neighbourhood of Gingerbread, will make a presentation around examples: municipal regulation of the zoned area Tedelt [Brussels], neighborhood contract "Koelbelberg historic" and enhancement of architecture and heritage [Roubaix, Agde...]

"Neighbourhoods for Haiti" has been created to mobilize the business sector of the construction after the earthquake of January 2010. The professional members of this association are convinced that all the technical skills in terms of architecture, of urban planning, construction, civil engineering, will be needed to help the Haitians. The objective of the association is to provide a platform for the synergy of initiatives related to reconstruction.
