Covid-19 : 27 cases of stigma...

Discrimination, social stigma and incidents against people suspected or confirmed of the presence of Covid-19 and establishments treating patients remain a concern. 27 episodes of stigma and discrimination, including seven attempts to lynch, have been recorded since March.

Sexual assaults at the Caracol Industrial Park ?

"I have been informed that workers at the Caracol Industrial Park have been victims of sexual assault. I have instructed the Ministry of Women's Affairs and Women's Rights to initiate an investigation to shed light on this matter in order to take the necessary measures," said Prime Minister Joseph Jouthe.

Tabarre : inauguration of the municipal library

Jean Emmanuel Jacquet, the Director General of the National Book Directorate (DNL) and his colleague, Dangelo Néard, Director General of the National Library, represented on June 25, the Minister of Culture, Pradel Henriquez, at the inauguration of the Tabarre municipal library. Food insecurity, deficit financing

Food insecurity, already at a very high level, has increased further in recent months due to the economic consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic. The current response to food insecurity is important but remains insufficient. According to the food security sector, the revised objective is to reach 1.56 million people in 2020. However, according to funding confirmed by partners, only 634,000 people could receive the necessary food aid. If new funds are not mobilized this year, the deficit will be around 60% for the emergency food response in Haiti.

Educational statistics, UNESCO support

With the Education Capacity Development Program (CapED), the UNESCO Office in Port-au-Prince is committed to supporting Haiti in the construction of its national system of educational statistics. The objective of the program is to set up real systems for producing quality statistics covering the entire education sector and actively integrating all stakeholders and users of education statistics.
