Agronomist Patrix Sévère, Minister of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Rural Development (MARNDR), participated this week in videoconference in a 3-day workshop, Organized on the initiative of the Office of Management and Resources Human (OMRH) on 6-7 and 8 July, during which took place the launch of the Administration Strengthening Project by improving the quality of service delivery took place.

This 5-year project, funded to the tune of 55 million US dollars by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), is part of the implementation of the State Modernization Program (PME-2023), launched in October 2018 by President Moïse https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-25812-haiti-politic-moise-unveils-the-state-modernization-program-by-2023.html

"This project will be implemented in two pilot ministries, namely the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Public Works to help extend the services provided by these two institutions. Gradually, other ministries and public entities will be selected by the Management Committee [...]" specified the organizers.

In his intervention, the Minister Sévère after having thanked the IDB for his contribution in Haitian public governance displayed his full solidarity for such a project. Because according to him "an efficient public administration is an indisputable pledge of the granting of services to the population" adding "[..] such an advance is in perfect coherence with the principal mission of the Ministry, consisting in designing, developing and implementing public policies in the agricultural sector which are broken down into policy elements aimed, in a more operational manner, at helping to feed the population, raising the income level of rural households, protecting natural resources, promoting the development of exportable crops and participate in the development of the secondary and tertiary sectors of the Haitian economy."
