Rockefeller Vincent, the Minister of Justice condemns with the utmost rigor the illegal actions of the Justice of the Peace in charge of the Court of First Instance (TPI) of the commune of Thomonde, Me Wilfrid Larivière who intentionally injured the Clerk Florent Yolette by beating her in the face with his firearm following an altercation on August 13.

Minister Vincent recalls that he was himself a clerk and that the Ministry he heads cannot remain indifferent "in the face of the ignominy committed by the Judge" in defiance of the law.

He believes that this assault on the person of Clerk Yolette only tarnishes the image of the judiciary, saying "This act testifies to a lack of restraint and wisdom that must characterize the behavior of any professional magistrate."

The Minister of Justice appreciates the decision of the Judicial Inspection Directorate of the Superior Council of the Judicial Power (CSPJ) to convenes the accused Magistrate in order to shed light on this regrettable situation. Rockefeller Vincent would like the appropriate sanctions to be taken against Me Wilfrid Larivière, in order to avoid the recurrence of such situations...
