Haiti - Politic : Paul Denis raises his voice against Youri Latortue

Paul Denis, the Minister of Justice is deeply upset by the attitude of Youri Latortue, the President of the Senate Committee of Inquiry on corruption electoral fraud, after having answered Tuesday to the invitation of the Committee, together with the Director General of National Police of Haiti and several Commissioners of government to find doors closed...

"This is not serious" declared the Minister, forced to make some round trips to the Senate, since the establishment of this Committee" I spoke by phone with Senator Latortue, who said that he did not believe that the meeting would be maintained... since the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince had told him that he could not be present"...

In addition, Paul Denis believes that the methods used by this Committee, are more of practices of a committee of political propaganda and of persecution than of a real Committee of Inquiry...

The Minister denies all the statements of Senator Latortue, who said that the Government Commissioners were in the pay of the ruling party (INITE) in the last election "This is false [...] I thought that the President of the Senate Committee had been edified after the meeting organised last week, with some Government Commissioners, but that does not seem to be the case..." stating, that he could not leave gaps at the level of the judiciary and that he had assumed his responsibilities by appointing Judges and Commissioners of the Government during the electoral period.
