As part of the project to upgrade border towns, Nader Joiséus, the Minister of Public Works recently made an inspection visit to Anse-à-Pitres (Dept. South East) where there are no shortage of problems.

A premise of justice which is too small with a tin roof where work in a stifling heat and often impossible... A police station that operates with only five under-equipped police officers, practically left to their own, in an increasingly populated town, an understaffed hospital center with a lack of electricity, among other things...

Minister Joiséus has racked up grievances, but that's not all. He also noted the overflow of the Pedernales River, the lack of protection of the banks to prevent floods and to remedy it, he promised the gabionage of the river over a length of one kilometer upstream and downstream.

From an agricultural point of view, it is essential to urgently clean up the irrigation canals that don't work, fill with the rubbish that residents dump there daily...

Nader Joiséus also visited the municipal market, considering the size insufficient and suggested expanding the area of ​​the market, which could contribute to improving the economic and financial conditions of the population of the area.

During his visit the Minister saw a lot and especially listened a lot. He promised to act within the limits of his responsibilities and the means of his Ministry. He also promised to convey certain grievances to the authorities directly concerned.
