Haiti - Politic: President Moïse calls on the diaspora to come to the country for the end of the year celebrations

In messages posted on his Twitter account, President Jovenel Moïse indicated that Haiti is on the road to change and calls on compatriots in the diaspora to visit the country for the holiday season.

"I ask the diaspora to return to the country for the end of year celebrations. Come see your family. Come see your friends. The country is on the road to the change we all want."

Regarding the phenomenon of insecurity, the Head of State informs the population that the police and judicial authorities have received specific instructions. "The police and the judiciary have been ordered to fight armed gangs throughout the national territory [...] peace and security must return to the neighborhoods. The civilian population must support the police by denouncing bandits and gangs in the neighborhoods. The police cannot be effective if they do not have the support of the population."

For its part, the National Police of Haiti (PNH) reiterates its determination to increase its interventions aimed at apprehending all the armed bandits who continue to terrorize the population in certain neighborhoods, particularly in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince.
