The Core Group (made up of Ambassadors from Germany, Brazil, Canada, Spain, United States of America, France, European Union, Special Representative of the Organization of American States and the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations Mrs. Helen Meagher La Lime) hopes that for Haiti "the year 2021 will be that of democratic renewal".

In this regard, the members of the Group "call for an accelerated preparations of the upcoming elections and call on the country's leaders and institutions to urgently publish an electoral calendar, to speed up the distribution of cards national identification to finalize reliable electoral lists as soon as possible, to put in place an electoral law and a party law that guarantee the transparency of the ballots, and to ensure sufficient security conditions to allow their proper unfolding."

The Core Group also encourages all stakeholders "to engage, with a spirit of responsibility, in a dialogue to serve the Haitian people." estimating "'it is only by the immediate redoubling of efforts, and the constructive commitment of all the forces of the Nation that the elections essential to a rapid return to institutional normality can take place, for the common good of the people Haitian."
