Haiti - Justice : Children's rights are progressing even if there is still a lot to do (video)

The rights of the child were at the heart of the debate at the 2nd edition of Agora which brought together Arielle Villedrouin, Me. Jacques Letang, Gertrude Sejour, Delva Jean and Marc Evens Lebrun.

"Right to education, family, health and a happy and balanced childhood : all these rights are enshrined in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, which has been signed by many countries, including Haiti, which is a good thing. For us, the European Union, the protection of children and the recognition of these rights constitute a fundamental priority that the European Parliament has recognized through its resolution of 2019 by placing the rights of the child at the heart of our policies ," reminded Sylvie Tabesse, Ambassador of the European Union who introduced this new AGORA.

Legal assistance for minors, adoption, delinquency, domestic service and protection of vulnerable children : so many issues discussed. Ignorance, poverty, lack of synergies between the different actors and impunity were widely discussed during a rich and dynamic debate moderated by Luckner Garraud.

Speakers are unanimous "Even though there is still a lot of work to be done, the work that is being done should not be minimized."
