Haiti - Flash : Haiti opens an Embassy in Rabat (Morocco)

Saturday, December 12 in Rabat, capital of the Kingdom of Morocco, took place the inauguration of the Embassy of Haiti during a ceremony chaired by Nasser Bourita Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans living abroad and Claude Joseph, the Haitian Minister of Foreign Affairs.

In an intervention, Chancellor Joseph declared "Our presence in this brother country is the manifestation of Jovenel Moïse's interest in strengthening our diplomatic relations with the African continent."

In addition, during this event, the two Chancellors signed two agreements, a cooperation roadmap (2021-2023) and a memorandum of understanding in the field of diplomatic training.

The roadmap covers economic promotion and investments, training and higher education and technical cooperation in key sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, renewable energies, vocational training, water and health.

The memorandum of understanding aims to establish a sustainable cooperation framework in the training of young diplomats and in terms of the exchange of experience and information in the fields of diplomacy and international relations.

Claude Joseph took the opportunity to announce the opening Monday, December 14 in Dakhla, of a consulate of the Republic of Haiti. Through this initiative, Haiti confirms its commitment to support Morocco's efforts to defend its sovereignty and its territorial integrity https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-32360-haiti-diplomacy-haiti-takes-a-stand-in-the-border-conflict-in-morocco.html
