Haiti - Politic : The work of correction of the Constitution began

Several lawyers and political actors had seen in the Presidential Order of June 6 [Is and remains reported the constitutional right of 9 May 2011 published in the Official Gazette "Le Moniteur" n°58 of May 13, 2011 not to be compatible with the authentic text adopted by Parliament in the National Assembly...] the end of the amendment process, at the origin of a serious constitutional crisis in Haiti. This is not the case, the President Martelly announced yesterday Monday, that a team of experts from the Executive and legislative branches, will today begin a meticulous work of corrections based on the minutes of the National Assembly and video recordings of sessions to confirm the accuracy or not of the amended articles, deleted or added and rectify what is necessary.

The Head of State said that the publication of the text of amendment was only postponed and has confirmed, that the amended Constitution will be well republished in the official newspaper "Le Moniteur" after the corrections, without however speak about time that will be necessary...

An announcement that will reassure the Diaspora who was concerned, in the absence of a new publication corrected, of the loss of the acquired dual nationality, which was voted in the National Assembly.
