Haiti - Obituary : Death of journalist Ernest Laventure Edouard

In a note, Pradel Henriquez, the Minister of Communication said he was deeply saddened to learn the news of the death of the well-known journalist and columnist Ernest Laventure Edouard, on Saturday January 2, 2021, in West Palm Beach (Florida) after several weeks of hospitalization, following cardiac complications.

Ernest Laventure Edouard aka "Konpè Moloskòt", or "Moloskòt" belonged to the old school of journalists "who firmly believe that the journalistic investigation is fundamental for the success of any media information and any editorial analysis" underlines the Minister

As an analyst, he was passionate about both the social and geopolitical situation of Haiti, as well as major national and international issues.

Moloskòt had a long career as a journalist. We first find him on Radio Cacique, where he was very active in the 1980s and where he did in his regular broadcasts, portraits of dictators from around the world, whether from Latin America, the Caribbean, 'Africa or Asia.

He then found at Caribbean radio station, then at RFM, with his "Major files" (Grands dossiers) before emigrating to the United States in 2013. It was on HPM, from Florida with his major files that he would rebound with his burning desire to tell his life story, to make revelations and to restore the truth...

Minister Henriquez underlines "[...] Moloskòt knew he was going to die given his doctor's forecasts. Knowing that you are going to die, there is nothing more painful. But then he had no choice but to live his last moments, as a philosopher. Life is nothing. Death is everything.

Faced with this disappearance, Minister Pradel Henriquez offers his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased, to his relatives and to the entire journalistic corporation from here and elsewhere.

Farewell Moloskòt !"
