Reservists from the 315th Airlift Wing have delivered past weekend more than 40 tons of humanitarian aid to Haiti. In addition to food aid for orphanages, which is expected to benefit approximately 8,000 Haitians, the humanitarian delivery included a dump truck and an excavator to assist in clearing debris and to the reconstruction of Haiti.

This rescue mission, is part of ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian relief to the Haitian people. Missions like this are made possible by the Denton Amendment, a state department program allowing the delivery of donated humanitarian aid to fly on Air Force assets on a space available basis.
