Haiti - FLASH : Joe Biden expels more Haitians than Donald Trump

A flight scheduled to leave Miami on Friday March 26 to deport Haitians in an irregular migratory situation to Haiti sparked a critical report from a coalition of immigration advocacy groups.

In his report entitled "The Invisible Wall: Title 42 and Its Impact on Haitian Migrants" the coalition led by the "Haitian Bridge Alliance", "UndocuBlack Network" and "The Quixote" criticizes Biden who systematically denies migrants an asylum application. and denounces the continuation of Trump's Haitian expulsion policy

Since last year, the United States has returned approximately 2,200 Haitians to Haiti. 60% of them were returned, not under the Trump administration, but under the new Biden administration, which is supposed to be more immigrant friendly.

The controversy centers around Title 42, a federal public health law (seldom used in the past) known as "Title 42", which is used to restrict asylum seekers due to the pandemic of Covid-19 and activated by the White House under the Trump presidency.

Steven Forester, Miami-based Immigration Policy Coordinator for the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti said "Haiti is a Nation in systematic collapse [...] extraordinary conditions exist which make it dangerous. to deport anyone there," stressing about deportations that it is an "unacceptable policy "

He recalls that the Biden administration did not explain why it considerably increased Haitian expulsions. But Forester says it contradicts what President Biden told Haitians last year as a candidate "President Biden when he was in Miami said he would end deportations to Haiti"...
