Haiti - Diaspora : Haitians very active in Île de France

As part of the "Konsila Lakay Ou", program, Wedlyne François Pierre, the Consul General of Haiti and her team recently met several Haitian compatriots living in Ile de France.

First, Consul Pierre met Isaac Pantaleon, renowned couturier and stylist based in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris who has already represented Haiti in several countries.

Then she went to "Fin et des famims" a restaurant located in Sarcelles (Paris suburb) where there is a strong Haitian community. Managed by Saint Cyr Ady and his wife, the welcome is warm, the cleanliness of the restaurant is impeccable as is the quality of the dishes.

Wedlyne François Pierre subsequently visited the Coccinelle 509 supermarket (open on December 23, 2020), the largest Haitian commercial space (1,000 m2) in Ile de France located in the Les Flanades shopping center, 1 Place Navarre, 95200, Sarcelles.

This supermarket offers products directly from Haiti, among others : Barbancourt rum, wheat, Shella rice, millet, black peas, butter peas are some of the Haitian products on the shelves of Coccinelle 509.

The owners François Joseph (investor) and Philippe Frantz aka "Fanfan Music" took advantage of the visit of the Consul to explain the difficulties they face in finding Haitian products on French soil. The Consule promised to report to the authorities concerned so that measures are taken to facilitate the export of typical Haitian products to France.

To end her day of meeting, the Consul and the "Konsila Lakay Ou" team visited the stand of the painter Sherline Emlya. Through her suitcases and other objects that highlight the colors of the flag, the young woman confirmed her extraordinary artistic talent.
