The French Embassy in Haiti announces the launch of its food aid program intended to help strengthen economic initiatives in rural areas.

The objective of this program is, in particular, to encourage local production through support for income-generating activities and to contribute to the structuring of Haitian producer organizations.

This call pursues three complementary objectives in support of local development and food security :

Promote economic activities in rural areas in the departments concerned by this call for projects; promote local economic initiatives that are vectors of women's autonomy and food security and provide support to local communities in their efforts to structure the agricultural environment in order to promote local development.

The project must cover one of the following themes :

Agriculture : Agriculture is a strategic axis of the rural economy and supports the majority of economic activities in rural areas. With a view to promoting agricultural entrepreneurship and improving food security, the Embassy of France in Haiti supports the financing of actions for agricultural production, processing and marketing of products likely to generate added value. in certain sectors.

Livestock : Within the framework of this call, transformation projects that will allow the development of a sector in livestock as an economic activity will be the subject of particular attention. Support for the financing of livestock renewal actions (for example, distribution of goats) will not be taken into consideration.

Agro-industry : Fostering the creation of added value in agricultural sectors is a strategic axis towards economic resilience, especially for women's groups. Thus, projects to support the development of agro-industry and/or the artisanal processing of agricultural products, constitute a priority axis of this call for projects with a view to contributing to the strengthening of autonomy in rural areas, in particular. that of women.
