After several days of discussions the Prime Minister appointed Dr. Ariel Henry https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34151-haiti-flash-ariel-henry-new-prime-minister-ai-official-update-6-19-am.html and Prime Minister ai Claude Joseph agreed on the formation of a new Government. Claude Joseph will retain his post as Minister of Foreign Affairs confirmed Ariel Henry.

Monday, without even waiting for his installation, Ariel Henry in an audio message addressed the Nation to launch a solemn appeal "[...] to national unity, to the pooling of our forces and to the cooperation of all [...]"

The installation ceremony of the new Prime Minister of Dr Ariel Henry and his ministerial cabinet, will take place this Tuesday, July 20, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. at the Prime Minister's office located on Boulevard Harry Truman (Bicentenary).

The United States welcomed this Government agreement where Ariel Henry will become the new Prime Minister of Haiti "We are encouraged to see Haitian political and civilian actors working to form a unity Government that can stabilize the country and lay the groundwork for free and fair elections," said State Department spokesperson Ned Price.
