Haiti - Elections : The Prime Minister takes an interest in women
Thursday, August 5, 2021, as part of his mission to organize free, fair, inclusive and non-partisan elections, Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry, met with several representatives of women's rights organizations.

From the outset, the Head of Government reaffirmed his determination to restore and guarantee security throughout the country. He also pledged to fight crime, impunity, corruption, extreme poverty, food insecurity and promote job creation and the rule of law.

It was an opportunity for Ariel Henry to seek to identify, through the voice of women, the obstacles that could prevent a very large women participation at all levels of the electoral process.

Discussions also focused on the balance, in terms of rights, which must characterize the next electoral law, as well as the formation of a new Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) which, according to the wishes of the Head of Government, "must be credible and impartial".
