At 4 weeks before the start of the school year (September 6, 2021), Marie Lucie Jospeh, the Minister of National Education reminds Departmental Directors, inspectors and high school directors of the obligation to pay special attention to the number of students admitted to the classroom, which must not exceed 60 students.

She recalls that the Ministry is working on a plan to accelerate the increase in educational provision which will allow the gradual reduction of this number with a view to better pedagogical supervision and an improvement in learning conditions.

In addition, she invites high school directors to ensure the strict application of the high school management manual with a view to ensuring order and discipline.

In addition, the Ministry informs officials of public schools that subcontracting practices in public basic schools and high schools are prohibited.

Only tenured teachers are authorized to teach in national schools and/or high schools. In the event of repeated absences without justification, the teachers will be replaced automatically according to the established procedures.

School principals must ensure the permanent availability of the attendance book (tally book) of all teachers. The Ministry may at any time carry out control visits in order to verify the conformity and accuracy of the information contained in the said notebooks.

Any offender will be punished according to the regulations and the law governing the matter.
