Sofia Loréus Minister for the Status of Women and Women's Rights learned with great indignation the acts of sexual assault on these 2 girls, inside schools, in recent days, one of 10 years old in the toilets of the Gérard César School, in Saint-Marc (rapist arrested https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35228-haiti-news-zapping.html ) and the other 8 years old in Gonaïves (rapist on the run wanted)

"These actions must not continue to be repeated in society and deserve to be punished in accordance with the law [...] Sexual violence against adult women is a crime, a double crime when committed against 2 minors who were at the school where they receive the bread of instruction," declared Minister Loréus

Faced with these acts, the Minister calls on the judicial and police authorities of the country to act against these individuals, against all the suspected criminals who commit these acts, so that they may be prosecuted, sentenced and imprisoned "because if no appropriate measures are taken to severely punish rapists and perpetrators, when they sexually assault women and girls, these acts will continue across the country and impunity will continue to expand."

On the other hand, Sofia Loréus calls on principals and school officials to put in place appropriate surveillance in their courtyards, classrooms and school toilets, in order to control their space so that thugs stop raping minors in schools. "It is not possible for these acts to happen, and the most serious thing is that they are committed in the school [...]"
