Haiti - Football : Launching of the championship MEGA (U-12)

The last training session taught by the Regional Technical Committee (CTR) of Martinique Jocelyn Germe has just ended, thus ending a cycle of five training initiator 1 (to supervise children 12 years and under) and nearly 200 newly qualified teachers. Now the encounters of the championship MEGA will take place, with the first phase, which begins this weekend.

93 men's teams and 42 women's teams will play on twenty sites throughout the country, each site will include between 4-8 teams, depending on the participation of women's teams.

Indeed if in each commune, find four boys' teams is easy, it is more difficult to have that number of girls, although they play with a lower effective (play to 7 for the girls, to 9 dor the boys) However, it is necessary to underline the exceptional participation of women in the town of Port-au-Prince with 18 women's teams registered, and also, by cons, regret that in the cities like the Gonaïves, St Marc, Les Cayes, Jérémie, Aquin, St Louis du Nord and Mirebalais there is no team participating.

This championship on an unprecedented scale in Haiti, for youth football, will see nearly 2,000 young people evolve in each of the 6 phases of the championship, made possible thanks to the Federation Internationale de Football (FIFA) and the partner of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF), the company MEGA.

This championship will end in October or November by the finals between the top regional teams to the Sylvio Cator stadium newly renovated. No doubt that the future of Haitian football will be found among these young. Note that all the young players will receive a license.
