Yesterday Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at 11:27 and 34 seconds in the evening, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded in Haiti at sea off Belle-Anse (Southeast Dept.)

The epicenter was located at 17,639 degrees north latitude and 72,110 degrees west longitude, 68 km south of Belle-Anse (South-East Dept.), 102 km south-east of Port-au-Prince ( West Dept.) and 114km south-east of Côtes-de-Fer (South-East Dept.), at a depth of 17.9 km.

This earthquake was felt from Jacmel to Port-au-Prince.

No loss of life or damage has been reported so far by the Civil Protection in relation to this new earthquake.
