Haiti - 9th Summit of the Americas : 20 countries including Haiti, signed the Los Angeles Declaration on Migration

On Friday, June 10, 2022, at the closing of the 9th Summit of the Americas, 20 of the 35 member countries from North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean signed the "Los Angeles Declaration on the migration and protection" (the United States, Argentina, Barbados, Belize, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras , Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay).

It should be noted that this declaration, which validates the principle of "shared responsibility between countries of origin and the final destination of migrants", in the words of President Biden, contains concrete commitments to contain the migratory crisis in the region, but nevertheless is not binding...

A summit that took place in the division after the exclusion of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua desired by the Biden administration, which did not want the presence of leaders of authoritarian regimes claiming that this Summit was intended for the only democratic countries respectful of human rights [like Haiti ?] (which provoked the boycott of other countries which advocated the inclusion of all member countries and which opposed the dictates of the United-States)

The Dominican Republic, which is facing a significant migration of Haitians to its territory and whose President Abinader in his speeches at the plenary sessions did not fail to emphasize that the international community must do more for Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36873-haiti-news-zapping.html has not signed this Declaration either, just like Bolivia among others...
