New seizure of weapons and ammunition

On Wednesday, July 13, customs officers in Port-au-Prince seized four duty-free container in which weapons and ammunition were concealed. Information confirmed (without further details) by Me Jacques Lafontant Government Commissioner. Gangs : Running out of ammunition ?

According to Joël Joanéus, executive agent a.i. of Cité Soleil, the intensity of the fire between the coalitions of Gang G9 and G-Pép fell sharply on Wednesday, estimating that the belligerents could begin to run out of ammunition.

Carnage in Cité Soleil

On Wednesday July 13, the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH) revealed in a partial report that the clashes between gangs in Cité Soleil left 89 people dead (including 21 bodies who were burned), 16 people are missing and 74 others were shot or stabbed. 127 homes in the Brooklyn neighborhood were burned down.

UN message to Haiti

"Violence in Haiti must end to guarantee the free movement of people and access to basic services. Humanitarians can help collateral victims. The principles of neutrality, impartiality, humanity must be respected," wrote the United Nations in Haiti yesterday on its Twitter account.

Alleged Murderer Arrested

Suspected of being the main perpetrator of the murder of Merinor Sanon, 45, perpetrated last weekend, St Vinia Wadenel aka "Ti Wad" was arrested by the police in the town of Mirebalais and taken into custody for the legal consequences.
