The Alliance for Risk Management and Business Continuity (AGERCA), representing the private sector and civil society in the National System for Risk and Disaster Management (SNGRD), reveals in its June 2022 bulletin that according to observations made from national (Ayiti-earthquakes, UTS-BME) and regional (Cuba, Jamaica and Dominican Republic) seismological networks, 113 earthquakes of magnitudes between 1.2 and 4.1 were recorded for the entire national territory, from June 1st to 30, 2022

Compared to the month of May 2022 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36909-haiti-environment-increase-in-the-number-of-earthquakes-may-2022.html the seismic activity of the month of June was revealed more or less stable with a slight decrease of 3.54%.

Among the earthquakes recorded, only one, of magnitude 2.95, was felt by the population. The epicenter of the latter was located in Kenskoff in the West department.

109 earthquakes (96.46%) had a magnitude less than or equal to 3.

70 earthquakes (61.95%) occurred at a depth less than or equal to 10 km.

58 earthquakes (51.33%) occurred at sea which could have posed a risk of tsunami if the conditions had been met.

102 earthquakes were located in the 3 departments affected by the earthquake of August 14, 2021 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34479-haiti-flash-magnitude-72-earthquake-in-the-nippes.html with 12 earthquakes in the South, 28 in Nippes and 52 in Grand'Anse. During the month of June, the department of Grand'Anse was once again the most affected.

From August 14, 2021 to June 30, 2022, 2,189 earthquakes were recorded in the three departments most affected by the earthquake of August 14, 2021. Nippes : 982 earthquakes, Grand'Anse 863 and the South 344. It should however be noted that a strong percentage of earthquakes recorded in Grand'Anse had their epicenter located at sea north of Jérémie, along the North - Grand'Anse - Nippes fault zone.
