Haiti - Security : Tinted windscreen, flashing light and siren 03/09/2011 11:49:42
The Directorate of the Traffic and the Traffic Police (DCPR), recalls in a press note, to the general public, owners and drivers of vehicles in particular, that the provision of Article 154 of May 26, 2006 on the registration and the movement of vehicles, that the windshields must be made of durable material, perfectly transparent and not likely to produce fragments in case of breakage, thus except those bearing the official and diplomatic plates, no vehicle is allowed to have the windows and windshield tinted. Special authorizations on medical recommendation falls within the sole discretion of the Executive Board of the National Police of Haiti and will be rigorously analyzed. The Directorate of the Traffic and the Traffic Police further recalls that the use of flashing lights and horn, thus of the sirens and reserved exclusively for the police vehicles, of fire brigade and ambulances duly identified.
