Haiti - Assassination President : Looking for a 6th investigating judge

Me Walter Wesser Voltaire, the 5th judge appointed in May 2022 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-36801-haiti-news-zapping.html , to investigate the case of the assassination of Jovenel Moïse on July 7, 2021 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-34162-haiti-flash-president-jovenel-moise-assassinated-by-mercenaries-official-updated-7am-+-video.html in his order sent to Me Bernard Saint-Vil, Dean of the Court of First Instance (TPI) of Port-au-Prince and to Me Jacques Lafontant Commissioner of the Government of Port-au-Prince indicates that he cannot respect the three-month deadline to investigate the case stating that "[...] certain formalities have not yet been completed [...]"

He recalls that according to the law of July 26, 1979 in its article 7, "the investigating judge seized of a case has a period of three months distributed as follows : two months for the conduct of the investigation and one month for the closing order" underlining "[...] my appointment, although made at the end of May 2022, was only acted upon during the month of July when an office and the documents in the file were made available to me arrangement [...]"

In his order, Judge Walter Wesser Voltaire did not request the extension of his mandate.

Note that the four previous investigating judges appointed to investigate the case of the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse have never been able to investigate the case for various reasons (including lack of means, security or documents in the file...)

#2 Judge Mathieu Chanlatte withdrew from the case in August 2021 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-35939-haiti-news-zapping.html
