"One of the great challenges we must meet for the 2022-2023 school year is to install the Creole language as the language of instruction in the first fundamental year as we seek to make better use of the French language." It is with these words that the Minister of National Education Nesmy Manigat opened the workshop that was held on the Single Digital Book https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-37579-haiti-education-the-single-book-a-recommendation-dating-from-2012.html

For the Minister "if the educational community (teachers, principals, parents and students), understands the need to use this teaching and learning tool in the form of paper books or in digital form, we will begin to change for good how the school is done inside the country."

Although this workshop was about the single digital book, the Minister confirmed that the printed version for the first year of fundamental was ready and announced the distribution of more than 25,000 books to teachers working in the first year of fundamental. This kit will also include the workbook that accompanies the book, learning guides and instructional worksheets.

From January 2023, the Ministry will launch a major single book distribution operation in the 10 departmental directorates of education in Haiti.

By the end of 2022, work to finalize the Single Digital Book will continue. This book will be used in addition to the paper version according to Joseph Job Maurice, General Coordinator of the teaching and quality pole, the entity that carries this file.

During this workshop, which ended last week, 30 evaluator technicians worked on the 5 subjects that make up the Single Digital Boo k: Mathematics, Experimental Sciences, Social Sciences, French Communication and Creole Communication. They analyzed 50 lesson sheets, 100 exercise proposals and 25 video clips.

Once validated by the Programs and Quality Department, these documents will be accessible to everyone on the Ministry's website and on social networks.
