Rice : Taiwan installs smart agricultural sensors

The Technical Mission of Taiwan (Republic of China) in Haiti has installed 62 units of smart agricultural sensors in the Warf Massey and Islet Massey areas, located in the plain of Les Cayes to monitor climatic conditions on agricultural land. We use these sensors to inform farmers to improve irrigation and fertilization for rice production.

Less than 3% of detainees tried in 2022

The latest report from the National Network for the Defense of Human Rights (RNDDH) on criminal hearings carried out in certain jurisdictions of the country reveals that from November 2022 to January 2023, of the 200 people who should have been tried, 128 were actually tried, 53 were released and 75 others convicted. RNDDH recommends that the judicial authorities regularly organize correctional and criminal hearings, with the aim of trying at least 50% of people awaiting trial during the year 2023. More than 9,000 detainees are in this situation, according to the RNDDH who regrets that less than 3% of detainees were tried in 2022.
