The flag of Haiti on Parliament Hill in Canada

The flag of the Republic of Haiti on the occasion of the 220th anniversary of its creation, was hoisted on the Hill of the Parliament of Canada, in the presence of ministers, parliamentarians and members of the Haitian community.

In addition, members of the Haitian community of Ottawa and Gatineau celebrated Flag Day on May 18, 2023. With the kind collaboration of the municipal authorities of the City of Gatineau, they hoisted, along with Minister-Counsellor Ossé Aristild, the two-tone at the Ville de Gatineau Maison du Citoyen. The audience took advantage of this opportunity to observe a moment of contemplation in front of the bust of Jean-Jacques Dessalines exhibited in the Hall of Nations, in Gatineau.

Yesterday, May 18, 2023, Haitian Flag Day was celebrated in Spain with the Haitian community, the Cercle Culturel d'Amitié Hispanique Haïtienne, the diplomatic corps and friends of Haiti in the courtyard of the Nunciature after the mass celebrated by the Nuncio Apostolic in Madrid, Msgr. Bernadito Auza.
