The "1,000 talents for the digital development of Latin America and the Caribbean" project is an initiative launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico and Huawei to contribute to the digital transformation of Latin America and the Caribbean and encourage the development talented women in the region in this new digital age.

Through this initiative, Huawei will award 1,000 scholarships for the entire region in its online program for certifications in the most advanced digital technologies, which are the engines of productivity and economic growth in the new digital age.

Huawei's Digital Technologies Online Certification Program, is designed for students, professionals and scholars with basic knowledge of digital technologies who want to strengthen their skills in data communication, artificial intelligence, storage, Internet of Things, cloud services and Big Data.

In line with Mexico's foreign policy, the 1000 Talents Program will contribute to the empowerment of girls and women in the Latin America and Caribbean region. This will reduce the digital divide and promote gender equality, which remains a serious problem and which the pandemic has made more evident.

Important dates:

Deadline to apply: August 19, 2023 11:50 p.m. Mexico City time

Review of applications: August 19 to September 1, 2023

Publication of grants awarded: between 2 and 9 September 2023

Start of online courses: September 14, 2023

Note: Classes are given in English and Spanish.
