34 illegal Haitians arrested in a van truck

Dominican army officers proceeded in the municipal district of Jicomé, Province of Valverde to the arrest of 34 Haitian migrants (17 men, 13 women and four minors) in an irregular migratory situation who were traveling concealed in a van truck closed. Dominican driver Luis Miguel Taveras Guzmán has been charged with human trafficking.

Death of Lilliane Pierre-Paul : Message of sympathy

"I learned, with sadness and emotion, of the death of journalist and presenter Liliane Pierre Paul. Liliane was an icon, a committed voice, a great figure in the press, one of the most famous and popular in the country. To her family, her loved ones, her colleagues and sisters, in particular her collaborators at Radio Kiskeya, which she co-founded, I send my heartfelt condolences."

The Embassy of France in Haiti learns with sadness, the death of the journalist Lilliane Pierre-Paul which occurred this Monday, July 31. The Embassy presents its condolences to his family, friends, collaborators and to the press in general. A career journalist, Liliane Pierre-Paul was an activist for freedom of expression. His death is a huge loss for the Haitian press.

Release of journalist Blondine Tanis

Kidnapped on Friday July 21, not far from her residence in Delmas, journalist Blondine Tanis was released by her captors for ransom on the evening of Sunday July 30, 2023.

Baccalauréat first day
