Data calculated since the first confirmed case (October 3rd, 2022) according to data from the Department of Epidemiology, Laboratories and Research of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP).

Total suspected cases: 59,345 since October 3, 2022 +372 in 24 hours, previous +65 (partial) in 24 hours

Total new confirmed cases: 3,599* cases +16 in 24h, previous +0 in 24h

Total hospitalized cases (suspected and confirmed): 52,550 since October 3, 2022 +369 hospitalizations in 24 hours, the day before +64 (partial) in 24 hours

Total deaths: 816** deaths ((567 institutional (+5) and 247 community (+2)) +7, previous +0

*Based on tests performed. On the average rate of confirmed cases tested and the number of suspected cholera cases since the start of the epidemic, the number of confirmed cases is expected to be above 20,000.

Less than 1 year: 1,468 cases (+7)

1-4 years: 11,836 cases (+92)

5-9 years: 8,425 cases (+47)

10-14 years old: 4,373 cases (+32)

15-19 years old: 3,256 cases (+28)

20-29 years old: 7,555 cases (+50)

30-39 years old: 6,417 cases (+33)

40-49 years old: 4,795 cases (+32)

50-59 years old: 3,579 cases (+8)

60-69 years old: 2,623 cases (+22)

70-79 years old: 1,538 cases (+17)

80 years and over: 631 cases (+4)

Men: 53.62% men (-); Women 46.38% (+)

Positivity rate by age segment:

Number of tests carried out: 10,083* +58 in 24h, previous +0 in 24h

Positivity rate (average since the rate of the epidemic): 35.69%, previous 35.74%

*The observable decrease on the graph for week 28 is the result of the absence of data publication for 4 days and not of a decrease in cholera cases.

Definitions:

Suspected cases:

Anyone with acute watery, profuse diarrhea with or without vomiting and dehydration

Confirmed case:

Any suspected case with a positive culture for “Vibrio cholerae” or presenting an epidemiological link with a confirmed case of cholera

Hospitalized case:

Any suspected or confirmed case that spends at least 24 hours in a care centre

Institutional death:

Any suspected or confirmed case who dies in a treatment center.

Community death:

Any suspected case that dies outside of a caring institution.
