As part of the national reconciliation, the President Michel Martelly, was received yesterday Friday at the private residence of Mr. Boniface Alexandre, former leader of the country during the transition period after the departure of President Jean Bertrand Aristide.

This is the fourth meeting with a former Head of State of President Martelly this week, after those of Prosper Avril, Jean-Bertrand Aristide and Jean-Claude Duvalier.

President Martelly described the former President Boniface, as a person humble, wise, respectful of the constitution.

"...I congratulate the President Martelly for this initiative he has taken to try to reconcile the nation of Haiti, so one thing that I would ask the people is to show good will, good faith because for there is a reconciliation it is necessary that all Haitians accept that we deserve to reconcile us..." declared Boniface Alexandre.

A meeting with the former President, Lesly Manigat, scheduled last Wednesday, was canceled by the President Martelly due to the health status of Mr. Manigat who is recovering after being hospitalized for a third time. While his recovery is slow, the doctors of the former president remains optimistic about his health.
