Storm : Haiti on yellow alert

The General Directorate of Civil Protection, the Hydro-Meteorological Unit of Haiti (UHM) in concert with the Permanent Secretariat for Disaster Risk Management, has decided to put Haiti on Yellow Alert due to the passage of Tropical Storm Franklin overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.

13.5 people killed every day

Violence in Haiti : 1,615 dead in 2021, 2,183 in 2022 and already 2,439 from January to July 2023 without counting the carnage of Carrefour Feuilles.

Liancourt : 21 people kidnapped in 24 hours

Friday, August 18, in Liancourt (Artibonite Dept.) heavily armed men from the "Gran grif" gang kidnapped 21 people on the same day. During this day, members of the population killed at least 4 members of the gang.

The Kenyan delegation has arrived in Haiti

A Kenyan delegation, made up of about twenty officers arrived this Sunday, August 20, 2023 in Port-au-Prince aboard a regular American Airlines flight to begin a mission to assess the situation of insecurity on the ground and determine the means necessary for the deployment of a non-UN intervention force after approval by the UN Security Council.

PNH : Important strategic meeting

Last week, the Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry, held an important meeting at the General Directorate of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) with the Commander a.i. of the PNH, Frantz Elbé who was accompanied by members of the High Commander. Several important and strategic points were discussed during this meeting.

Cap-Haitien : New drinking water project

In the presence of the authorities and the National Office for Migration (ONM), the International Organization for Migration (IOM - Haiti) and the National Directorate of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DINEPA), launched a project in Balan (Cap Haitien), to supply drinking water to Carrefour Titoit. An initiative funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID-Haiti) which will benefit approximately 400 families.
