During the opening of schools in the Dominican Republic this week, the Consulate General of Haiti in Santiago accompanied our compatriots in several regions of Cibao in the distribution of school kits, in several Batey in Puerto Plata in particular the Batey La Grúa where many Haitians were victims of a terrible fire on July 25 which reduced at least 25 houses in the center https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40177-haiti-flash-at-least-35-small-houses-of-haitians-destroyed-in-a-fire-in-the-dom-reoublic.html

More than 250 children from the region of Santiago to Puerto Plata, received help for the start of the school year with school kits containing backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils among others...

A gesture of solidarity from the Consulate which made happy many parents living in these areas who had never benefited from such help in these areas. The Consulate of Haiti in Santiago intends to continue working to help the community wherever it can.
