Crisis : discussions postponed

On Tuesday, discussions between the signatories of the Kingston Declaration, those of the December 21 agreement and Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry could not resume due to the unavailability of the Apostolic Nunciature where the negotiations were to take place. The parties will have to quickly find another place and another time because Prime Minister Henry will be traveling from September 15 to 25, 2023.

Artibonite hit hard by cholera

Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in an updated report presented by officials from the Saint-Nicolas de Saint Marc hospital, the cholera epidemic claimed the lives of 3 people and infected 38 others. This dangerous disease has hit the Artibonite department hard, particularly the commune of Saint Marc, for the last two months. Dr. Frantz Alexis, Medical Director of the hospital, expressed concern about the rapid spread of the epidemic and urged the population to respect hygiene measures in order to limit its spread in the region.

Security Council vote possible postponement

While a meeting of the UN Security Council was scheduled for Friday, September 15, 2023 to vote on the resolution for an intervention in Haiti, several diplomatic sources suggest that this vote could be postponed... to be continued...

Grand’Anse : Delivery of checks to entrepreneurs

On the sidelines of the inauguration of the Lifranc national school, the Government, through the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, presented 53 checks to entrepreneurs in Grand’Anse. This activity is part of the support program for small and medium-sized businesses, in accordance with the multisectoral program for social healing and the reintegration of vulnerable groups, set up by the Government in partnership with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Judge Walter Wesser Voltaire heard this week from two other members of the Colombian commando as part of the investigation into the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse. They are Alex Miyer Peña and Carlos Giovani Guerrero Torres. The two latter bring to six the number of Colombian suspects hearedin this case.
