The 16th Pan American Games taking place this year in Guadalajara [Mexico] from October 15 to 30, 2011. 12 Haitian athletes participate in these competitions in five disciplines: Athletics - Judo - Tennis - Taekwondo, and Weightlifting.

This Monday have took place the first competitions, with in tennis, individual men, Olivier Sajous (Haiti) against Roman Recarte (Venezuela), the first round ended with 4-6 in the first set, 6-2 in the second set and 1-6 in the third set, the match that lasted 1h43 has allowed to Olivier Sajous to qualify for the second round which took place yesterday Tuesday.

During the second round the Haitian tennis player Olivier Sajous faced Juan Sebastian Cabal (Colombia), the second round ended with a score of 6-2 in the first set, 0-6 in the second set allowing to Sajous to regain hope and 7-6(2) in the third set, after the match that lasted 2h05 our single national tennis player present at the 16th Pan American Games was eliminated.

In Taekwondo on the occasion of the eighth-finals in the category men's over 80kg, Tudor Sanon (Haiti) fought with Miguel Ferrera (Honduras) yesterday morning. Unfortunately Sanon Tudor lost against his opponent of Honduras with an overall score of 4-12, 1-4 in the first round, 2-5 in the second round and 1-3 in the third round. Tudor earned 2 points by attack while his opponent made 10 points, both have earned 2 points by penality.
