Haiti - Cooperation : Promises from South Korea

Thursday September 21, 2023, on the sidelines of the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations, Prime Minister a.i. Ariel Henry met with Yoon Suk-yeol President of the Republic of South Korea in the premises of the permanent mission of South Korea to the United Nations.

Prime Minister Ariel Henry took the opportunity to request South Korea's support for the multinational intervention mission to support the Haitian Police to restore security in Haiti.

President Yoon Suk-yeol promised to contribute to strengthening the operational capacities of Haitian public security forces through cooperation between the police of the two countries.

Bilateral cooperation was at the center of the discussions. Among the areas discussed during this meeting, is a partnership in the field of health, the sharing of digital technology and the strengthening of Korean investments in our country.

In this context, the South Korean President promised to encourage other entrepreneurs to come and invest in Haiti and hoped that Peace and stability would return to Haiti with a view to creating an environment conducive to future investors.
