A Haitian arrested for threatening to kill Abinader

The General Directorate of Immigration (DGM) proceeded, on September 27, to the arrest of a Haitian national accused of having threatened to kill Dominican President Luis Abinader, in a video published on social networks. The identity of our compatriot has not been revealed.

Prosecutors : Exam calendar

The Board of the School of Magistracy (EMA) informs the pre-selected applicants for the recruitment competition for prosecutors launched by the Ministry of Justice and Public Security on May 30, 2023 that the first phase of the exams will take place on October 5 and 6, 2023 starting at 8:00 a.m. and will take place on the following subjects: Thursday October 5, 2023: Legal Dissertation (duration 3 hours) Friday October 6, 2023: Criminal Procedure (duration 2 hours). Football : Base Camp leaves the DR

Given the tensions between Haiti and the Dominican Republic regarding the construction of an irrigation canal in Haiti with a water intake on the Massacre River, the Normalization Committee of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) had asked CONCACAF to change the base camp established in the neighboring Republic https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-40548-haiti-news-zapping.html . Although the regulations stipulate a deadline of 60 days before the next match (Haiti vs Saint-Kitts-and-Nevis on October 29, 2023) CONCACAF accepted Haiti's request and gave a 48-hour ultimatum to the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) to find a new base camp which still remains unknown until now after the impossibility of Suriname, Bahamas and Cuba to host the Haiti base camp for scheduling reasons.

Damages linked to climate change

Launch on September 28, 2023 at the Hôtel Montana, of a two-day hybrid technical dialogue workshop on losses and damage linked to climate change. This workshop, which aims, among other things, to raise public awareness of the issues of loss and damage, was launched by the Director General of the Ministry of the Environment, engineer Astrel Joseph, in the presence of experts in the field of climate change, technical and financial partners of the Ministry, representatives of civil society organizations and public administration officials.
