France for the protection of journalists

On this international day to end impunity for crimes committed against journalists (November 2, 2023), the French Embassy in Haiti reaffirms its commitment to press freedom and the protection of journalists. RAID : training on intervention techniques

Two experts from the Guadeloupe Antenna of the French RAID provided training on intervention techniques in Port au Prince, for the benefit of 26 agents : SWAT, the Intervention and Research Brigade (BRI), the Bureau of Fight against Drug Trafficking (BLT) and the Brigade for the Fight against Vehicle Theft (BLVV). 6 trainers belonging to these tactical units of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) joined the French educational team in order to in turn train police officers. They participated in all modules as instructors under the direction of the two RAID instructors.

Architecture students from Quisqueya University visited the Art Center and its collections. They were able to discuss the layout of spaces within the Center and discovered the reconstruction plan for Maison Éthéard-Larsen

Quebec : Aid of $4.8 million for Haiti

The Quebec Government will allocate $4.8 million over 3 years in consultation with Quebec organizations, the Haitian diaspora and international organizations around three areas: support for more vulnerable populations (women, young people); education and strengthening local governance.

BRH and NATCOM : Support for Public Universities in the Region

Ronald Gabriel, the Governor of the Bank of the Republic of Haiti (BRH) and the Deputy Governor, Georges Henry, spoke with Nguyen H. Dzung, the CEO of Natcom, They discussed the medium and long term objectives of the company, its investment strategy and its growth prospects. During this meeting, Gabriel and Dzung discussed strengthened support for Regional Public Universities (UPR) and the academic and university community in general.
