In his traditional end-of-year message, Lesly Condé, Ex-Consul General of Haiti in Chicago (2004-2018), offers all Haitians her wishes for 2024. Message of reflection that we invite you to read and share :

"Dear compatriots and friends from everywhere,

Frè m, sè m ak zanmi m toupatou,

As the year 2023 prepares to give way to a year 2024 that we want to welcome with great optimism, I consider myself, once again, highly privileged to be in your company. I wish you, from the outset, much wisdom in all the decisions you will have to make during this period, as well as much success in all your endeavors. We all need courage and pragmatism to face the inexorable challenges before which we are powerless. In the end, our firmness, our resilience and our sense of duty constitute our best allies throughout this adventure. This is what I wish you all for the year 2024.

We are in the time of new resolutions that we are firmly committed to implementing. We will naturally add those which, during the year 2023, have not been executed for one reason or another. The beginning of the year is the time for all optimism. The glass is empty, and we intend to fill it impeccably during this period of three hundred and sixty-five days that we welcome.

The custom is for us to be affable and smiling during the holiday season. I would love for the end-of-year smiles to continue. A smile costs nothing but can do a lot of good.

All that remains is for me to reiterate my sincere wishes for health, success and happiness for the year 2024, as well as the assurance of my unalterable attachment."
