Haiti - Football : Zagalo has left us, the FHF expresses its sadness

The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) learned with sadness the news of the death of Brazilian football legend Mário Jorge Lobo Zagallo at the age of 92 years and 4 months, on January 5, 2024 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)

Present at the Sylvio Cator Stadium on August 18, 2004 on the occasion of the famous match for Peace (Haiti vs Brazil) Mario Zagalo, his artist name, remained until his death the only footballer to have won 4 championship titles of the world : two as a player in 1958 and 1962, one as head coach in 1970 and the last as assistant coach in 2002.

"The Great Family of World Football has lost a passionate about the game, a strategist, a career sportsman, however; We all dream that his journey and his works will serve as a source of inspiration for the Brazilian Football Confederation to offer us other footballers of Zagalo's caliber," underlines the Haitian Football Federation.

In total, he led for Brazil 154 matches, for 110 victories, 33 draws and only 11 defeats.
